GREY MATTER TRANSFORMED

Our now famous holiday pop-up bar started in 2021, the first year the state of Florida allowed distilleries to serve cocktails. Since then, each year we select a popular holiday movie theme and completely transform our space to feel exactly like the movie. Starting each year on Black Friday and running through the first week in January, we have specialized holiday drinks, themed trivia nights, a scavenger hunt for guests to win big, and festive music to enjoy. Every inch of the distillery is personally decorated by our owner and family - the intricate details will entertain your eyes and fill your heart with holiday spirit! 

Grey Matter goes Pink every February in honor of our favorite four letter word, LOVE! The love of friendship, family, romance and cocktails all come together to create an atmosphere like a Hallmark card. Our love-themed cocktails are paired with your favorite treats to create a truly decadent menu. We host plenty of special events all month long ranging from Malentine's night, themed trivia & music, live-music and entertainment, and a Galentine's Taylor Swift party. Even if you don't love the mushy Valentine's time of year, the distillery is sure to provide entertainment and a yum-factor you won't find anywhere else!

Travel back in time with us! Every May we celebrate Retro Month by covering the distillery in nostalgic décor and filling our menu is with classic drink favorites. Throughout the month, we host a retro costume party, decade trivia, rad giveaways and themed music. Dust off your leg warmers, tease up your hair, take in the sights and sounds of the past while enjoying our blast from the past pop-up bar!

Every August, Grey Matter transforms into an Enchanted Forest. The distillery disappears beneath greenery, flowers, glowing lights and a little bit of magic, with hidden animals and gnomes tucked throughout the forest waiting to be found. Even our menu transforms, with our bar team creating an entirely new collection of magical cocktails and elixirs just for the month. Add in themed trivia and special events, and there’s always something new to discover. Step through the doors and you may forget you’re still in Mayport.

October is when things get a little spooky around here. Grey Matter becomes Dark Matter, and we go all in for Halloween. The theme changes from year to year, but you can always count on plenty of creepy details, a completely transformed space, and a brand-new menu of spooky cocktails dreamed up by our team. We keep it just creepy enough to get you in the Halloween spirit, but not so scary that you can’t bring the whole family. Come have a drink, look around, and stay awhile. We promise the spirits are friendly.
